László Magyar

For the evaluation of the scientific work of László Magyar, it was necessary to collect the reports made by those travellers (David Livingstone, Antonio Francisco Ferreira da Silva Porto) who visited those lands that once belonged to Portugal. For this purpose - with the involvement of three PhD students - research work was carried out in Portuguese libraries, map-rooms and archives of various colonial institutions as well as the contemporary Hungarian and British map documents and publications were collected.

The research in the libraries and archives of Portugal, England and Hungary resulted in publishing a critical list of 553 source items and the critical study of fifteen cartographic source materials, of which eight were published.
