6 Differences between the Altitude References


a) Difference between Baltic and Adriatic heights in Hungary
Origin of the height system in Hungary is the fundamental bench mark Nadap.
By system definition the heights in Hungary are given with respect to the Baltic mean sea level.
However there are also heights used above the Adriatic mean sea level.
The difference between the Baltic and the Adriatic heights in Hungary at fundamental bench mark Nadap:

dH = HAdriatic - HBaltic = 173.8388 m - 173.1638 m = 0.675 m

b) Differences between the height system of Hungary and the neighbouring countries:

Between Hungary and Austria:correct determination in progress,
Between Hungary and Croatia:is not defined,
Between Hungary and Rumania:= 0 m,
Between Hungary and Slovakia:= 0 m,
Between Hungary and Slowenia:= 0 m,
Between Hungary and Jugoslavia:is not defined,
Between Hungary and Ukraine:= 0 m.
