Tony Campbell writes: is the researchers' equivalent of LinkedIn. Almost 22 million people have signed up covering many disciplines. There are over 3000 people for  the history of cartography and its well worth a visit or even to join -  to upload papers, talks etc. and of course to download them. If you join a research interest group you are automatically in contact, if you wish, with others in the same field and can receive alerts as to new publications etc.come out.
